Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in the free 15-minute consultation?
The free consultation is a brief, informal phone call to see if we're a good fit. It's a chance for you to ask questions about our approach, and for us to understand what you're looking for. There's no pressure to schedule a full session.
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
The first session, or intake, is a 60-minute appointment where we'll dive deeper into your history, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. It's a collaborative process of setting goals and building a roadmap for our work together.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy and is protected by law. Everything you share is kept private, with a few exceptions required by law, such as imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. We will discuss these limits in detail during our first session.
Do you offer virtual/telehealth sessions?
Yes, we offer secure and confidential video sessions for clients located anywhere in Michigan. We use a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy.
